Wenn du Moral hast, schütze die Korallen! Von Ocean Wilkins, Qld  Menschliche Aktivitäten gefährden die Gesundheit der Weltmeere. Über 80 % der Meeresverschmutzung wird durch Aktivitäten an Land verursacht. Ganze Meeresökosysteme unterliegen einem raschen Wandel, von der Korallenbleiche bis zum Anstieg des Meeresspiegels.   Die globale Erwärmung verändert die Chemie des Ozeans und eine Vielzahl von Prozessen im Meer und gefährdet viele Arten von Meereslebewesen, die sich nicht an die höheren Temperaturen anpassen können. Die Überfischung ist in einigen Regionen der Welt ein großes Problem. Naturschützer plädieren für die Einrichtung großer Meeresschutzgebiete, um die Artenvielfalt der Ozeane zu erhalten.   Kunststoffe stellen eine erhebliche und zunehmende Bedrohung für die Meere dar.
